Rovaniemi taxi: know the fare before you land
Based in Rovaniemi, driven by the person who writes this site. Check the fare
Two addresses, or a chip for the airport, the station or your hotel. The road is measured and the meter tariff does the rest.

Hold the fare on your card
Date, time, how many of you, a name and a phone number. Then the card: the fare is held, not charged, and you get a reference number straight away.

Confirmed, then charged
A daytime pickup on a free slot is confirmed the moment the card is held, and charged then. Outside 07:00 to 20:00 a real person confirms first, usually within a couple of hours; if we cannot drive, the hold is released. Receipt by email.

The rules we drive by
- Hours
- We drive every day from 07:00 to 20:00. A pickup outside those hours goes through as a request and is confirmed personally, never automatically.
- Flights
- Give us the flight number and we follow it. A late plane is not waiting time: we are inside arrivals when you walk out, whenever that is.
- Waiting
- The first 2 minutes are free, then 1.00 € a minute.
- People and bags
- Up to 8 passengers in the bigger car, 6 when everyone has a suitcase. One to four people ride on the car's tariff, five to eight on the bigger car's: 12.00 € at the start and 1.99 € a kilometre. A child seat or skis fit if you say so in the booking note.
- Cancelling
- Free until 24 hours before the pickup: the full fare comes back to your card. Inside 24 hours, half of it. A no-show is the full fare.
- The price
- Every fare includes 13.5% VAT. Weather and road works can move the final meter a little in either direction.

Before you book
How much is a taxi from Rovaniemi airport to the city centre?
About 36.60 € for up to four people, about 46.20 € for five to eight in the bigger car. The airport is 10 kilometres from the centre, about 15 minutes in winter. Put your hotel in the box above for the price to your door.
Do I pay in advance?
The fare is held on your card when you book and charged once the ride is confirmed: at once for a daytime pickup on a free slot, after a real person says yes for the rest. A declined request releases the hold. The receipt comes by email.
Where do you meet me at the airport?
Inside arrivals, with your name, before the bags come out. If the flight is late, we are late with it, at no cost to you.
Do you drive to Levi, Saariselkä or Kilpisjärvi?
Yes. The fixed runs table gives the one-way price for the trips we drive most. Saariselkä, Ivalo, Inari and Kilpisjärvi take the whole day, so they are confirmed by hand and cannot share a date with another booking.
Is there a night surcharge?
No. One tariff around the clock. Pickups between 20:00 and 07:00 are confirmed personally rather than instantly, that is the only difference.
How many people and bags fit?
Up to eight passengers in the bigger car, six when everyone has a suitcase. Four ride in the car on the lower tariff. Skis and a child seat fit if you tell us in the booking, so we load the right car.
Do I need to book a taxi at Rovaniemi Airport in advance?
Not always, but it costs nothing and it is the only way to be sure in December, when every plane lands full. Booked, we are inside arrivals with your name. Unbooked, you queue at the taxi platforms outside the terminal.
Is there Uber or Bolt in Rovaniemi?
Yes, both run in Rovaniemi, with an airport pickup point behind car park 3. On a normal day the meter comes out close to ours. What you get here instead is the price before you fly, a driver who follows the flight and waits when it is late, and room for up to eight.
Do you have child seats?
Yes. Put the child's age in the booking note and the seat is in the car when we meet you. Skis and big bags go in the bigger car.
